" We are a Calgary, AB based company serving the beauty needs of YYC and surrounding!
Our name is very near and dear to our hearts, very personal and celebrates artist Vanessa's love of 1940s vintage beauty and glamour along with the historical strength and resilience of women during WW2.
" I am asked often what 'WarBaby' means and where the name comes from. 'WarBaby' is a nick-name my Dad gave me when I was young because of my obsession with the war era. It stuck with me my entire life and was the obvious choice for the name of my company when the time came! Though there was nothing glamorous about war, I am constantly inspired by the determination and the creativity of the women who had no choice but to walk into a terrifying reality. With almost everything going toward the war effort, women had to become creative with their makeup and fashion and being strong yet holding onto their femininity is what kept them going! The VICTORY RED lipstick was particularly inspiring to me when I realized that this cosmetic represented SO MUCH MORE than a red lip colour! It represented the fierce determination and courage of a generation of women who would pave the way for our future!" - Vanessa Hernandez-Munoz
