Yesterday, we demystified Highlighting and today, we are going to do the same with Contouring! In the same way that a light shone on the face will highlight certain features naturally, there are features that will fall into SHADOW when light falls on them. These are the areas of the face that RECEDE or fall BACK. These are generally the areas of the fact that you want to apply your contouring product to. Keeping in mind that just as with highlighting....you may feel you have a feature that naturally recedes too much already, in which case you would AVOID using contour in that area! I like to choose a product that is the same colour as my face would be if I were tanned. It should look natural and NOT overdone!! You can also lightly contour with blush and/or bronzer if you so desire! The product you choose, depends on your skin type and your personal preference! I personally like powder over creams and liquids because I enjoy blending powder much more. Remember to choose a synthetic bristle brush for liquid and cream product and a natural hair bristle brush for powder!, apply and BLEND BLEND BLEND! We don't want to actually see the makeup! We are creating the illusion perfectly worn features naturally, thanks to the careful application of product! TO RECAP: HIGHLIGHT areas that COME FORWARD on the face and CONTOUR areas that FALL BACK. In the same way, HIGHLIGHT areas that you WANT to come forward, and CONTOUR areas that you want to fall back! Wasn't that EASY? Now let's see those highlight and contour pictures ladies!!!
